State Tax Withholding Certificates

As of 2020, the Federal Form W-4 did away with traditional withholding allowance numbers, simplifying the process for many filers. But this means that the Federal W-4 can no longer be carried over to many state withholding certificates, most of which still use the traditional allowance numbers.

Therefore, when being paid by a Media Services payroll company, you will need to separately fill out and submit a state withholding certificate, if available for your state. In the absence of a state withholding certificate on file, we will default to the highest applicable withholding rate for that state.
